Charles Dickens
David Copperfield
David Copperfield, Dickens' 'Favourite Child', is also his most popular masterpiece. In it he told the story of his own life, suitably disguised; his unhappy childhood, his early love, his unwise marriage. It contains some of his greatest characters: the irrepressible Wilkins Micawber, the black Murdstones, Betsy Trotwood and Mr Dick, the odious Uriah Heep, the loyal Peggottys, the pathetic little Em'Iy and a host of minor characters like the willing Barkis, Tommy Traddles and the Byronic Steerforth.

With Introduction and Notes by Arthur Calder- Marshall and including a selection... Tovább
