John Boardman
is Lincoln Professor Elect of Classical Archaeology and Art, University of Oxford. He has written widely on the art and archaeology of Archaic Greece, and is the author of several titles in The World of Art Library including Greek Art ('one of the very best short histories'. Financial Times); Athenian Red Figure Vases ('masterly organization appreciation of the needs of scholars and students alike'. Times Literary Supplement)] and, most recently, Greek Sculpture: The Archaic Period.
