The author Graham Pizzey Is a well-known naturalist, writer and birdwatcher. His natural history column In the Melbourne Herald ran for 16 years, and he is the author of six books on Australian wildlife. He currently writes for the Melbourne Age. He Is a Member of the Order of Australia, an Honorary Associate in Ornithology at the Museum of Victoria, and has been a Council member of the Australian Conservation Foundation and of the Royal Australian Ornithologists' Union, and a recipient of the Australian Natural History Medallion. Graham and his wife live on a bush property near Dunkeld In the Victorian Grampians, where they enjoy showing many visitors the birds of that beautiful region.
The illustrator Roy Doyle, a member of the Wildlife Art Society of Australasia, is a fifth generation Australian and was educated at The Kings School, Parramatta. He Inherited his artistic ability and keen interest in wildlife from his father. After service with the AIF In New Guinea, India and Ceylon, he was discharged In 1946 with the rank of Captain. He worked in advertising in Sydney for a number of years before moving to the Central Coast of NSW where he enthusiastically pursues his chosen profession—painting Australian bird life. Vissza
