LYNNE CHENEY is the author of America: A Patriotic Primer and a longtime advocate of teaching our country's history to children. A widely published author who holds a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin, Mrs. Cheney believes that the story of America's women is particularly important for children and young people to know.

ROBIN PREISS GLASSER collaborated with Lynne Cheney on America: A Patriotic Pnmen Before becoming a professional illustrator, Ms. Glasser was a soloist for the Pennsylvania Ballet for eleven years. She has illustrated more than a dozen children's books, including Alexander, Who's Not (Do You Rear Me? I Mean It!) Going to Move and Super-Completely and Totally the Messiest, both by Judith Viorst.
Robin Preiss Glasser says of working on this book, "I was struck that so many of these remarkable women managed to change history and raise families at the same time."
