• I T; Agents Affecting Fertility This Symposium was attended by over 400 members of the participating societies and attracted many visitors from overseas. Its scope ranged from man to insects and from x-irradiation to sex lures, thus illustrating the almost ubiquitous importance of the study of fertility in the animal world. Emphasis was placed on the active growing x>ints of the subject matter, though the naturaly occurring hormones were not dealt with. For that reason the well-known orally-active progestagens (the active agejpts in oral contraceptives) received less attention than their intrinsic importance would demand. Nevertheless, because of the social and economic importance of the study of fertility as well as its inherent scientific interest, this volume is likely to have a wide circulation, not entirely restricted to the scientific world.
