In nation after nation, people held in political cases are in detention without being allowed to defend themselves in a fair trial. - > Will you stop the torture and killing of prisoners? Brutal torture and ill-treatment have been practised in the 1980s by one out of every three governments. The death penalty is in force in some 130 countries, and the taking of life by the state in executions and political killings continues.
