There are numerous books about the wild animals of the world. This one takes a somewhat different approach by dealing with the wildlife of our planet geographically. Starting with a chapter on animal distribution in general, the authors divide the world into six generally accepted zoogeographical regions, adding Antarctica and several groups of islands for completeness. They begin by describing each of these regions, its climate, and its terrain. Then in greater detail, they explore its animal life.
