Rabbi Bela Fischer is a native of Hungary. He was ordained at the Jewish Theological Seminary there and earned his Ph.D. in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations at Peter Pazmany Scientific University of Budapest. Rabbi Fischer has lectured on religion at New Hampshire's Rivier College (the first rabbi to teach at this Catholic school) and he has served as spiritual leader of Temple Beth Abraham, Nashua, New Hampshire for the past thirty-one years. Rabbi Fischer was awarded the degree of Doctor of Divinity, Honoris Causa, from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America and he is the author of The Human Exile, Asylum Laws Before the Christian Era and essays and articles on biblical studies.
