The Handbook of ELT Terms and Practice has grown out of the need for a broadly-based reference book in dictionary/glossary form which in a single volume deals with the wide field of study demanded of today's English language teachers. Among the numerous areas it covers are methodology, phonetics and phonology, grammar, theory and psychology of learning and classroom management. Information is alsó given on associated subjects such as creoles, Esperanto and Middle English, and on well-known names such as Chomsky, Bloomfield, Firth and Zandvoort. In addition, many definitions of words used in the description of literature and language and in the world of formai education are included. Another notable feature of the Handbook is the inclusion of passages selected from many of the books prescribed by examining boards. The qualified or trainee teacher will find enormous value in having key extracts, either complete or summarised, assembled together in one volume, thereby avoiding the need... Tovább
