This delightful, beautifully illustrated book uses chants, songs, and poems to teach conversational American English to elementary school children. Using Professor Graham's recently developed and widely acclaimed technique of set-ting everyday conversational English to jazz rhythms, this innovative book for children capitalizes on their natural affinity for rhyming games, rhythm, and move-ment in a systematic series of units focusing on their emotional as well as linguistic needs.

The rhythms and humor of the chants prove to be a highly motivating and effective teaching tool. All chants, songs, and poems are recorded by the author and a group of children on a one-hour cassette which accompanies the package.
A Teacher's Edition contains pages (in reduced size) from the student's edition, and detailed suggestions for presenting the chants, songs, and poems as well as the activities.
