Coauthors Thomas G. Aylesworth and Virginia L. Aylesworth met and married in Chicago, where Mrs. Aylesworth was born and raised. She attended Chicago public schools and studied at Northwestern University and the Art Institute of Chicago. Mr. Aylesworth moved to Chicago from his native Indiana at an early age and attended LeMoyne School, a short walk from Wrigley Field, where he would later spend much of his free time cheering the Cubs. He did a portion of his undergraduate work at Loyola University and took his bachelor's degree at Indiana University, as did Mrs. Aylesworth. Both went on to graduate studies, Mr. Aylesworth at the Ohio State University, where he took his PhD, and Mrs. Aylesworth at Wesleyan University, where she earned her Master of Fine Arts.
The authors have written five books together, four of them travel books. They have traveled extensively, both in America and abroad, but Chicago is based on their years of residence in a city both of them know and love.... Tovább

Thomas Aylesworth's career has included a long tenure as editor-in-chief of a major publishing house and the authorship of an additional 40 books. He has also taught writing, science and education.
