It is composed of three books, which can all be used separately, written by authors who have wide experience of EFL teaching and teacher-training in the UK and overseas. The first two books revise and expand the work done in the first two years of English language learning. The third book consolidates and develops this work. After completing the work students may begin a course of study which leads to the First Certificate Examination. Throughout Books 1 and 2 the main structures and functions of English, which are all given equal weight, are taught in intrinsically interesting contexts. A special feature of each unit is the use of problem-solving activities to generate genuine communication - and these are carefully linked to the main teaching point of each unit.
