This book is probably the first of its kind to deal exclusively with hose manufacture and technology. Its scope includes the manufacture of all the major types of rubber and plastic hose in use throughout the world. It can virtually be considered as a training manual. All manufacturing operations, including mixing and compounding, material storage, mixing equipment and handling, together with process and quality control are discussed in detail. Extrusion, braiding and vulcanisation systems are also detailed, including up to the minute and future plant and continuous systems. Reinforcing materials are included and discussed in the section on hose design and construction, and there is also a chapter devoted to Technical Trouble Shooting. The theme is continued into a detailed section on fittings and assemblies, without which a hose cannot be used.
