COLPOPOIESIS FROM THE COLON BY M. KUN The purpose of this monograph is to review the aetiology and pathogenesis together with the methods of treatment of vaginal aplasia. Based on published data and his own findings, the author has become a propagator of the advantages of colon transplantation over all possibilities available in vaginal plastic surgery. Professor Kun is an authority on this topic having perhaps the widest experience in Central Europe. His own approach and surgical techniques concerning the construction of the vagina from the sigmoid or ascending colon, indications for colpopoiesis, preoperative preparation and postoperative care as well as the emotional problems arising in connection with this anomaly are discussed in detail. In order to offer an overall picture of the problem, separate chapters, written by Professor J. László, are devoted to the embryological and genetic aspects of these diseases.
