The fifth edition has been revised and expanded. Mrs Pincott has written three new chapters which cover the additional topics that Commerce students are now required to study. These topics include the activities of the Trade Unions, the increasing role of the government in business, the situation brought about by Britain's entry into the E.E.C., and the activities of institutions such as the IMF and the World Bank. The text has also been expanded to include the developments associated with the production of oil from offshore oilfields. All the statistics quoted are the latest available at the time of going to press.

The late D. Treharne Williams, B.A., B.Comm., had over forty years' experience in teaching commercial subjects. His last position was as Head of the Commerce Department in Hall Green Bilateral School, Birmingham.
Mrs M Pincott, B.A., is at present Lecturer at Auckland Technical Institute, New Zealand.
