It is my happy lot to live in two worlds - the world of nature and the world of words. As a wildlife photographer and film maker it has been my good luck to travel much and set up camp in all sorts of wild and fascinating places. For me, too, the seasonal activities of wildlife in the suburbs have always brought a special pleasure. These things I have written about. As a writer without any skills in the art of fiction I never have to worry about devising plots and characters. All around me nature provides them in abundance - plots more intriguing than science fiction and characters both beautiful and bizarre. As a naturalist my pleasure lies not only in finding out how the wild world works but alsó in expressing a little of my own emotional response to that world. And in reading what others have written I seek not just information but something of the informer. Everyone has a unique response to nature. Each of us notices different things, each of us sees the same things differently.... Tovább
