The ghost of Henry VIH's executed second wife, Anne Boleyn, is said to return to her childhood home of Never Castle on Christmas Eve and crosses the bridge over the River Eden in the castle grounds.
Kent is named after the Celtic tribe of the Cantiaci that lived in the area at the time of the Roman conquest of Britain in the first century AD.
Why is there a statue of the Native American princess Pocahontas in St George's churchyard at Gravesend?
The Vine Cricket Ground at Sevenoaks is possibly the oldest cricket ground in England, and was the site of the first cricket match ever to be reported in the national newspapers when a match took place there between Kent and Sussex on 9th September 1734. It was given to the town in the late 18th century by the 3rd Duke of Dorset of Knole, the great house near Sevenoaks,'to be a cricket ground for ever'.
