This is a practical guide to 150 medicinal plants and their uses. Each plant is illustrated in colour and described in full. The information provided for each is arranged under the following headings: Description; Part used; Habitat and Collection; Constituents and Action; Usage.
In the general coverage of his subject the author also provides information on drying and preserving health plants - recipes for their use - and an appendix containing common ailments and the plants with which they may be treated. The author is Professor of Parma-cology at the Swiss Institute of Technology and a Member of the Swiss, European and International Pharmacopeia Commissions. He also sits on the Swiss Food Codex Commission where his particular responsibility is Spices. His book is highly authoritative and his practical advice is always based on up to date scientific and medical thoughts and practice.
