Douglas Harding is a highly respected author^ philosopher, and mystic who, for more than thirty years, has been sharing with others a direct method for rediscovering our original nature. The experience that Harding points us to,*which he calls "Seeing Who You Really Are," is the same experience referred to in other traditions as Enlightenment, Liberation, Consciousness, Void, and God.
In this distinctive series of dialogues, Harding discusses the fundamental issue of life: how to awaken to the natural freedom that is our true self. Through a unique series of "exercises," Harding guides us to where we can clearly perceive our original nature. From this vantagepoint, we see that who we really are is not limited to our face and the self behind the face but is instead opened out into the limitless "No-Face," the infinite and eternal essence that is both absolutely free and at the same time identified with all existence.

Jn spirited, intimate conversations as well as public talks, edited beautifully by Professor David Lang, a longtime friend and student of Harding, Face to No-Face offers us a special opportunity to come to know this beloved philosopher in an informal and often humorous setting. Throughout, the rediscovery of "oneself" by oneself is invariably the principal theme, and Harding articulates the "way home" in a manner that is always refreshingly authentic and original.
"For years, British philosopher Douglas Harding has been trying to explain (in uncommonly well-chosen words) that we are not what we take ourselves to be—he shows that our True Identity is more wonderful and easier to find than we could have ever i magi ned." —Yoga Journal
"Harding's very original approach offers some ridiculously simple but ingenious 'tests' that utilize just basic body apparatus, and challenge our prevailing assumptions through " direct experience." —NAPRA ReView
"While Douglas Harding belongs with the world's wisdom teachers, he refers only briefly to the established traditions. Instead, he relies on his own life experiences and exercises to point us towards self-realization." —The Bodhi Tree Bookstore
