Pig battles with the ogre, and when he cannot cope Monkey has to turn elsewhere for help before the ogre becomes the Tang ' Priest's' tRird disciple for the journey.

In the next volume in the series, Stealing the Magic Fruit, the Tang Priest and his disciples arrive at Five Village Temple. There Monkey steals some magic fruit that the greedy-Pig eats. In a fit of temper Monkey uproots the tree. The abbot of the temple captures the Tang Priest and demands compensation for the magic tree. Monkey needs fill his skill to get them out of this fix.
