GRADED SIMULATIONS I
Graded Simulations can be used for developing language and communication skills with both native and non-native speakers of English.
The nature of the topics also makes them suitable for training these skills in students of education, journalism, sociology, law and politics.
Graded Simulations I is suitable for use in EFL/ESL programmes in schools and adult education courses at or above the intermediate level and can be used also for pre-Cambridge First Certificate work. The following three simulations are contained in Book I:
1. Survival: Survivors of a plane crash in Red Desert and of a shipwreck in Shipwrecked make group decisions in life-threatening situations.
2. Front Page: sub-editors make up the front page of a local newspaper as news flows in. They select but do not re-write stories. They write headlines. There is a deadline.
3. Radio Covingham: Journalists at a local radio station produce a ten minute programme of news and views from the...
