Haranghy and Clara Szemenyei Research workers and clinicians tend to regard tuberculosis as a closed chapter of medicine, virtually ignoring the many thousands of patients with latent tuberculous infection. In many cases prevention and care would merely be a financial and organizational problem. Suddenly and repeatedly emerging epidemics in areas not considered endemic are well known. The cases for these unexpected occurrences are dealt with in the present monograph. The authors, experienced pathologists, draw the attention primarily of clinicians and generál practitioners to the diagnostic difficulties of the various forms of tuberculosis arising in the elderly.
