The Collection and The Lover
HAROLD PINTER
The Collection, a comedy first presented by Associated Rediffusion Ltd. in 1961 and then by the Royal Shakespeare Company at the Aldwych Theatre in 1962, develops two of the main themes of Harold Pinter's earlier work: menace and lack of communication. The Lover is a one-act play for television, in which two characters play the double parts of husband-lover and wife-mistress. Also included is a short story, The Examination.
This volume is a further exploration of a world which is peculiarly Pinter's own and will confirm his position as one of the outstanding playwrights of our day.
