Shakespeare in Europe EDITED BY OSWALD LEWlNTER -s. It is remarkable that what is often called the Shakespeare industry has heretofore not produced a collection of European writing on the plays and poems. In this generous selection the most brilliant figures of three centuries of Continental literature appear as critics too long withheld from Englishspeaking readers, Shakespeare's primary audience.
