The "Handbook on the European Union" has reached its seventh edition in Hungárián, and tens of thousands of copies have been published, helping civil servants, students, businessmen and other citizens to study the European Union. Former editions were alsó published in English, French and Slovak with - among others -the help of the European Commission, and proved to be an instant success in severa! EU Member States. Since its conception, the book has made its way into the curricula of several universities and colleges. This new revised edition is published simultaneously in English, French and Hungárián.

This book owes much of its success to the fact that it evolves together with the European Union, keeping its readers abreast of the latest changes in Europe's architecture. One would be hard pressed to find many volumes that follow the EU's development so closely, with subsequent edjtións published so frequently. The new edition now covers the cönsequences öf the enlargements of 2004 and 2007, analyses the changes of the Reform Treaty - expected to put the EU on new foundations írom 2009 - as well as the new trends of individual policies in the 2007-2013 financial perspectives. Zoltán Horváth followed his studies in Hungary, Francé and the United Kingdom, writing his PhD thesis on EU decision-making. He has worked at the University of Economics of Budapest, the Hungárián Academy of Sciences and, ín recent years, at the Office for Foreign Relations of the Hungárián Partiamért, as the Head of its EU Department.
