About the Author Hugh Johnson began his prodigious and renowned career as a wine connoisseur as a member of the Wine and Food Society at Cambridge. Following his tenure as wine columnist for House & Gorden, he succeeded the legendary André Simon as editor of Wine & Food. He served concurrently as General Secretary of the International Wine and Food Society. With the publication of his first book, W/ne, Hugh Johnson established himself as the most refreshing and authoritative voice on the subject of wine. His other books include The World Atlos ofWine, Hugh Johnson's Modern Encyclopedio of Wine, and Hugh Johnson's How to Enjoy Wine.
