The fruit of over twenty years teaching experience in India, this book offers an introduction to the history of Indian and world art. It has been specially written to answer the needs of Indian sstU" dents, but will be of great interest to art lovers and travellers in India and abroad, Almost five hundred illustrations bring the text to life. Technical terms too are clarified by diagrams whenever possible.
The author obtained her Ph.D. in History of Fine Arts at the University of Budapest. She also studied at the University of Louvain, at the University of Paris (Sorbonne) and at the Universita per Stranieri at Perugia.
She made several extensive study travels in Hungary, Austria, Holland, Belgium, France, Italy, Germany and England, visiting museums, exhibitions and art monuments.
She has already published a study on the History of the Hungarian chapel at Aix-la-Chapelle, in Hungarian and in German and she was correspondent of "La Revue d'Histoire Ecclésiastique".
