David Talbot Ricé
was educated at Eton and Christ Church, Oxford, where he graduated in 19257 For the riexrfKre^eafs he was holder of a Senior Research Scholar-/ship at Christ Church ln Í032, aftel- having travelled extensively and excavated in the Near East,\ he became Lecturer on Byzantine and Near Eastern art at the GourtaulfJ Institu^te, London.
