This book aims to provide an introduction to economics which stresses, as the title indicates, those aspects of the subject of particular interest to those engaged in indüstry or commerce. The subject matter is divided into eight parts which deal with (i) the purpose of production, (ii) the planning and organisation of production, (iii) problems of production, (iv) the determination of price and output, (v) problems of distribution, (vi) money and banking, (vii) international economic relations, and (viii) the impact of the State. Though there is adequate treatment of generál economic theory there is rather less emphasis on pure theory and more than is usual in a textbook of economics on those problems-and the theory underlying them-that can be properly regarded as economic aspects of indüstry and commerce.
