CAROUSEL is a complete two-level course for children starting English at the age of five or six. Its guiding principle is to develop in children a real feel for the language through activities which combine fun with learning. CAROUSEL presents everyday language through the experiences of two children and their friends in situations which children will instantly recognise is based on enjoyable and varied activities such as drawing and colouring, songs, games and stories, with additional games to practise pronunciation and the rhythm of English places special emphasis on the development of listening and speaking skills. Each level provides the following components: The Course Book contains full colour illustrations of situations, stories, activities and songs. The Cassette contains dialogues, songs, chants and stories from the Course Book and Activity Book. Alsó available: A Teacher's Resource Cassette which is designed to support teachers who are new to primary teaching. It provides authentic models of classroom language to help with pronunciation and intonation and alsó includes practical suggestions for presenting new language, songs, chants and stories. The cassette alsó contains all the songs from Books 1 and 2. A tapescript of the resource cassette is included in Teacher's Book 2. m
