Like a curtain, poverty separates the citizens of the earth into two worlds. While the industrialized countries are boasting about their combined gross national product of $8.2 trillión, the developing nations must subsist on a meager fraction of this wealth. This means that more than one biliion people—that is, more than the populations of North America, Europe, Japan and Australia combined—subsist on less than $200 per year.
Justice is not a liberal agenda. It is the character of God expressed in a society when people decide to live in peace and true love. The church has been given the privilege of being at the forefront of this calling in the world today, bringing hope to the downtrodden that God can really meet them at
their point of anguish. Through a series of Bible studies, this guide will help us to proclaim the good news that people all over the world are waiting to hear.
