This flexible material for real beginners provides early language exposure and practice. It is the ideal lead-in to a full language learning programme - such as the Collins COBUILD English Course.
The components of First Lessons are a Student's Edition, a Teacher's Edition and a set of cassettes. The material can be used
• sequentially, to form an initial programme for real beginners;
• selectively, to supplement an existing course, where real beginners need additional support.
Students are given confidence in handling real English through simple tasks which have been recorded on tape and provide a sensible introduction to natural speech.
Vocabulary is introduced in meaningful sets, and recycled systematically through the material. Students then build up their vocabulary by giving teacher-guided reports and by listening to recordings of real English.
