In this book, published to coincide with the tenth anniversary of 7:84, McGrath looks at the different ways different classes take their entertainment. Then, after going back to Brecht and Piscator and other purveyors of political theatre in the twenties and thirties, he looks to his contemporaries and to 7:84 itself, in order to reach a definition of truly popular working-class theatre.
