The pick of international visual reportage from 1993 - some 190 pictures submitted by photojournalists, picture agencies, newspapers and magazines throughout the world - is brought together for The World Press Photo Yearbook 1994, presenting the winners of the 39th contest in the series. Selected from over 22,000 images of the highest quality, taken by more than 2,400 photographer's representing over 90 countries, the prizewinning photos encapsulate the year's historic dramas.
