My Childhood<br /><br />
My father Mario had a profound influence on my life, both musically and ethically. Two of my most vivid memories are of him playing the trumpet. He was a fabulous trumpeter and I remember him playing in an orchestra in Riccione where we went on holiday in summer. I also clearly remember him playing in nightclubs. He worked extremely hard and managed to provide the best life he could for us. In the early years of cinema one of his jobs was to record film music, synchronising the music with the moving images.<br />
My mother's family, the Rodolfi, were pretty anarchic, which explains her first name, Libera, and that of her sister, idea. We lived in Trastevere, an ancient quarter of Rome, where I was born on 10th November 1928. Mussolini was in power and by then his leadership was no longer as Prime Minister but as a dictator. I have three sisters, Adriana, Maria and Franca. They used to fuss over me and one of them in particular still does! Vissza
