Masters of Modern Architecture This series of monographs is devoted to the great twentieth century architects who created the modern architectural idiom. Their projects and buildings have pioneered the styles and construction techniques of our time; their ideas have played a decisive part in the planning and development of our úrban and domestic environment. Each book opens with an account ofthe architect's life and a critical appraisal of his work. The work is then set out in an extensive series of plates. A wide selection of buildings- ranging from office blocks, hotels and public buildings to high-rise apartments and priváté houses- is graphically illustrated in somé hundred pages of photographs, which include many full-page colour plates. The plates are accompanied by detailed notes and supplernented by numerous plans and drawings. A chronology and a bibliography are included for further reference.
