The book consists of three parts, the first of which describes the methods of colour photomicrography. This part discusses the means of the formation of images and those of illumination, the various devices used in photomicrography and the photosensitive materials of colour photomicrography.
The second part, amply illustrated with photomicrographs, mostly in colour, describes the procedures practically feasible through generally known means, special methods of investigation by microscopy and the sources of faults occurring in phot3graphy.
The third part deals with the means for processing colour photographic materials and the special chemicals required for the purpose. It contains a description of the subtractive and additive methods of filtering as well as the procedure for processing the various photosensitive materials in colour. The Polaroid Land colour process, which yields a finished colour photograph within a minute, is described in the last section of this part.
Based upon the long practical experience of the author, the book gives a review of the most up-to-date technical means as well as practical hints on their use. It is intended primarily for the use of physicians and biologists but constitutes a practical aid also for those who are concerned with colour photomicrography in other fields, for routine or scientific purposes.
