In little boats, we traverse the skerry-strewn anc reef-skirted waters off the South Coast and experience the magic of the ship's corso which, according to traditiondating.'rom heathen times, takes place every year on that holy midsummer night which knows no darkness.
The author's coloured photographs are evenly shared among the various great regions of this extensive country, showing up the typical features of the individual areas to their best advantage. The judiciously chosen text, divided into five sections and written by competent Norway connoisseurs, gives an outstanding survey of the characteristics of this Kingdom in the West of the Scandinavian Peninsular. Climax of our Dorthern trip is undoubtedly theexperiencc of seeing the midnight sun against the scintillatine crystal walls of the icy coasts of Spit/ bergen, that bit of Norway so remote from the mother country and so near thp
