Evelyn Doyle's first book — her account of her childhood, and of the historic legal battle her father fought to regain custody of his children - became a worldwide bestseller, and her experiences inspired Pierce Brosnan's film. Her inexplicably troubled relationship with Jessie casts a long shadow over her life until the story's unforgettable denouement.
