INDUSTRIAL ECONOMICS Issues and Perspectives
Second Edition
Paul R. Ferguson and Glenys J. Ferguson
Industrial economics has reached a crossroads in its development; the established approach, based on the neoclassícal theory of the firm, is now being challenged by a variety of ideas and concepts. Paramount among these are developments within the new institutional economics, notably transaction cost economics and the work of the Austrian School.
This revised and updated new edition of Paul Ferguson's successful textbook integrates these new approaches alongside a critical exposition of neoclassical theory. Issues discussed include:

• topicai problems, such as privatisation and deindustrialisation
• areas of particular importance for policy formation, such as monopoly.
Paul R. Ferguson is a Lecturer in Economics in the Department of Economics, The Management... Tovább
