Derek Torrington is Professor of Human Resources and Dean of Management Studies in the Manchester School of Management at UMIST. He was for many years Chief Examiner at the Institute of Personnel Management.
Laura Hall is a senior lecturer in management at the Manchester Metropohtan University. She is an associate examiner at the Institute of Personnel Development in human resource planning.
