Finally, here is the first guide written especially for unsuspecting Australian males who know little or nothing about parenting but are keen to have a go. A book that explodes the myths — a tough, uncompromising, no-holds-barred, no beg-your-pardons look at fatherhood, from the sperm that started it all to the sleep deprivation you'll suffer as a consequence.
So You're Going to be a Dad is a wry and very funny book about the trials and joys of parenting. It also provides useful and practical advice about pregnancy, childbirth and baby care, and examines issues of vital importance, including:

But that's not all! Complete with a glossary full of handy words you'll need to know and a lot more that you won't, plus the films to watch and the ones to avoid, and words of wisdom from real live fathers, So You're Going to be a Dad is without doubt one of the greatest parental education books ever written.
Peter Downey is an author because he couldn't cut it as a musician. He lives in the suburbs with his wife, three children and four guinea pigs, and drives a Tarago. He wrote this book because he believes somebody should warn dads-to-be about the enormous changes fatherhood will bring to their lives. He also wrote this book because he believes that our society needs more good dads. However, he primarily wrote this book so he could be a television and radio talk show celebrity and retire early to a villa in Portugal.
