Grunewald's Dream describes developments, within the Swedish care system for people with mental disabilities, over the course of 20 years. Peter Siebesma conducted three exceptional studies on this topic, that is, in 1987, 1992 and 2004. Visits to facilities and meetings with actual caregivers have provided an insiders view into care and support services in Sweden. Therefore, the results offer a completer picture than most politicians, policy makers and care providers have, until now, had access to. The book dearly conveys the final outcome of Swedish care renewal to the reader. Any nation, concerned with the concept of socialization, can learn from these results. Afterall, Sweden is among the most experienced countries in the world on the subject.
