A completely new and inspired idea in anthologies, this generous treasury is for the reader who enjoys music and will therefore doubly enjoy the good writing that music has evoked. In fiction, articles, biography, and letters, music speaks out of these pages with all its manifold charms.
There are more than one hundred selections. The writers include Bernard Shaw, G. K. Chesterton, Stendhal, Remain Rolland, Lafcadio Hearn, Prokofiev, Dickens, P. T. Barnum, and many others.
