The book has been compiteci by a group of college professors and teach-ers, authors of Works in various bran-ches of mathematica! analysis (Valentina Yefimenko-in calculation mathe-matics, Grigory Lunts (deceased)—in the complex variable function theory, Sergei Frolov—in variational calculus, Abram Yanpolsky(deceased)—in dif-ferential calculus). The book has been edited by the late Professor Boris De-midovich, Doctor of Physical and Mathematica! Sciences. The problems and examples included in the book cover a general course in higher mathematics for engineering colleges.
The book contains a total of over 3,000 problems. Emphasis is placed on the key sections of the course, which require well developed skills (such as limit détermination, differentiation, graphical représentation of functions, intégration, application of some intégrais, sériés and solution of differential équations).
Each chapter is preceded by a short theoretical introduction, and includes basic définitions and formulas essen-tial to the given section of the course. Examples of solutions are shown for the most important problems and answers are given for ail the problems.
