This book is the record of a great discussion between some of the leading theologians of our time and some outstanding American humanists and philosophers. Paul Tillich, H. Richard Niebuhr, Gustave Weigel, John Hick, and other distinguished representatives of religious tradition confront searching criticisms of their key ideas by analytic philosophers (Paul Ziff), by rationalists (Brand Blanshard), pragmatists (Gail Kennedy), and philosophers of modern science.
