TOULOUSELAUTREC RICHÁRD THOMSON Toulouse-Lautrec's art mirrored his priváté life so directly that his paintings and posters offer a pictorial documentary of Paris at the turn of the century. Emulating the Impressionists and their interest in the metropolis, Lautrec re-created in oils and prints his own quintessentially úrban existence, depicting the dance-halls and brothels of Montmartre and turning, later in his career, to the theatres and boulevards for inspiration.
