Having worked in nurseries, garden centres and with landscape construction teams, Roger Sweetinburgh gained a diploma and Master of Horticulture at the Royal Horticultural Society's garden at Wisley. From there he went on to become a horticultural officer for a wide range of activities including the planning of parks and bedding schemes and the management of trees. He then turned his hand to teaching at Merrist Wood College and became a full-time lecturer on all aspects of garden design and construction. He is now a freelance journalist and illustrator, lecturer and garden designer. His designs include the gold medal award-winning Victorian garden at the Chelsea Flower Show, and he is responsible for the garden design services offered by one of the largest DIY stores in this country, and for the magazine Good Housekeeping. He currently teaches at Kew and the English Gardening School at Chelsea Physic Garden. Vissza
