who until very recently were active
—and even renowned— members
of the "internal dissident movement"
and "independent press",
tell their stories to two Cuban journalists,
shortly after revealing their true identities
Rosa Miriam Elizalde, Sancti
Spiritus (1966). Columnist for the
newspaper Juventud Rebelde,
where she was the assistant
director for several years. She has
published two books, Jineteros en
La Habana and Flores desechables,
both of which deal with the subject
of prostitution. She was included in
the anthology Vivir y pensa en
Cuba, a selection of works by
young Cuban essayists. She has
received numerous awards in
national journalism competitions
and is a contributor to various
publications in Cuba and abroad
She was the editor of the digital
weekly La Jiribilla. She is currently
the director of two major Cuban
online publications (www.cubasi.cu
and www.antiterroristas.cu).
