These are the kinds of questions contained in this unusual collection, which looks at the results of experiments conducted into humán behaviour in the street, the supermarket and other everyday settings. The experiments evince at once a realization of the methodological problems of experiments conducted 'in the field', and an ingenuity demanded by the need to keep the data uncontaminated by the subjects' awareness of the experiment.
